1 Chronicles
1 Chronicles 13:2, 4-5, 15:3, 28:1, (Greek 28:2), 8, 29:1, 10, 20
* 1 Chronicles 13:2 David said TO THE whole Israelite MULTITUDE, “If you so desire and Y’H'Vah our God approves, let’s spread the word to our brothers who remain in all the regions of Israel, and to the priests and Levites in their cities, so they may join us.
(l’coal q’hal Ishra-El / tay pasay ek’klaysia IsraEl)
Note: Qahall’s unspiritual nature. This verse is just referring to the people of IsraEl not a church or a congregation or a community or a group, just people. See Genesis 49:6
1 Chronicles 13:4 THE whole MULTITUDE agreed to do this, for the proposal seemed right to all the people.
(call ha qa-hall / pasa hay ek’klaysia)
Note: Qahall’s unspiritual nature, see Genesis 49:6.
Also qahall’s pronoun like nature “everyone agreed” , see Leviticus 4:13
1 Chronicles 13:5 So David GATHERED TOGETHER all Israel from the Shihor River in Egypt to Lebo Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
(vaya q’hall eth call Ishra-El / egzek’klaysiasen tone panta IsraEl)
1 Chronicles 15:3 David GATHERED TOGETHER all Israel to Jerusalem to bring the ark of the LORD up to the place he had prepared for it.
(vaya q’hall eth call Ishra-El / egzek’klaysiasen tone panta IsraEl)
1 Chronicles 28:1 David GATHERED TOGETHER in Jerusalem all the officials of Israel, including the commanders of the tribes, the commanders of the army divisions that served the king, the commanders of units of a thousand and a hundred, the officials who were in charge of all the property and livestock of the king and his sons, the eunuchs, and the warriors, including the most skilled of them.
(vaya q’hell eth call sha-ray Ishra-El / egzek’klay-siasen pantas tous arkhon-tas IsraEl)
** 1 Chronicles 28:2 King David rose to his feet (in the midst OF THE MULTITUDE) and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the LORD’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. I have made the preparations for building it.
(en messoe tays ek’klaysias)
Note: Only the Greek adds this phrase, relating the word ecclesia to the people who were there. Ecclesia’s pronoun like nature “in the midst of everyone/them”, see Leviticus 4:13
** 1 Chronicles 28:8 So now, in the sight of (all Israel), (the) MULTITUDE/HOUSE of Y’H'Vah (as opposed to the house of Jacob or the house of Israel, see 1 Kings 12:21), and in the hearing of our God, I say this: Carefully observe all the commands of Y’H'Vah your God, so that you may possess this good land and may leave it as a permanent inheritance for your children after you.
(call Ishra-El q’hall Y’H'Vah / pasays ek’klaysias kur-Ryoo)
Note: For the use of “house” as qahall or ecclesia compare 1 Kings 12:21 and 2 Chronicles 30:25. Note that the Greek translators found it redundant to mention “all Israel” because it is all ready implicit in the phrase “the Multitude of Y’H'Vah”. You could say “the house of Y’H'Vah or “everybody belonging to Y’H'Vah”
For interesting English transliterations of ecclesia or qahall see Numbers 22:4
For common Old and New Testament phrases such as “the Multitude of God” see Deuteronomy 23:1
1 Chronicles 29:1 King David said TO THE whole MULTITUDE: “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is just an inexperienced young man, and the task is great, for this palace is not for man, but for Y’H'Vah God.
(l’call ha qa-hall / pasay tay ek’klaysia)
1 Chronicles 29:10 David praised Y’H'Vah before THE whole MULTITUDE: ”O Y’H'Vah! God of our father Israel, you deserve praise forevermore!
(l’aynay call ha qa-hall / eno-opi-yone tays ek’klaysias)
1 Chronicles 29:20 David told THE whole MULTITUDE: “Honor Y’H'Vah your God!” So THE whole MULTITUDE honored Y’H'Vah, God of their ancestors; they bowed down and stretched out flat on the ground before Y’H'Vah and the king.
