Judges

Judges 20:1-2, 21:5, 8

Judges 20:1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the (whole) union WAS GATHERED TOGETHER as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto Y’H'Vah in Midz-Pah.
(vathee Qa-hel ha e’Dah / kai egzek-klay-sias-thay pasa hay sunago-ogay)

Judges 20:2 And there stood, the chiefs of the whole nation, all the tribes of Israel, IN THE MULTITUDE of the people of God, 400,000 men on foot that drew the sword.
(bi q’hal am ha Elohim / en tay ek’klaysia tou laou tou theou)

* Judges 21:5 And the descendants of Israel said, “Which of all the tribes of Israel has not come up to the LORD WITH/IN (the) MULTITUDE?” Because there had been a great oath concerning whoever did not come up to the LORD at MitzPah, stating that he would be put to death.
(ba qa-hal / en ek’klaysia)
Note: The Latin Vulgate translates ecclesia as army of the Lord in this verse (“in exercitu Domini” with the army of the Lord). A possible attempt of one from another generation to understand the NT use of the words ecclesia/qahall. Interesting English translation of qahall / ecclesia, see Numbers 22:4

* Judges 21:8 And they said, “What one is there of the tribes of Israel that did not come up to the LORD to Mizpah?” And behold, not one man at the camp had gone into (was in) THE MULTITUDE from Jabesh-gilead.
(ell ha qa-hal / eis tayn ek’klaysian)
Note: Being yoked together, see Deuteronomy 23:1 . For some other uses of the phrase “enter into” see Genesis 6:4, 7:9.
